When flying from Australia with Cathay Pacific, baggage allowance depends on
your travel class and route.
For flights using the weight system (common on flights to Asia, Europe, and
Africa), Economy Class passengers are generally allowed 30 kg of checked
baggage. Premium Economy Class passengers can check up to 35 kg, Business Class
passengers 40 kg, and First Class passengers up to 50 kg. There is no
restriction on the number of pieces as long as the total weight remains within
the limit.
For routes using the piece system (typically flights to or from the Americas),
Economy Class passengers may check two pieces, each weighing up to 23 kg.
Premium Economy allows two pieces of 25 kg each, Business Class two pieces of 32
kg, and First Class three pieces of 32 kg each.
All passengers are allowed one carry-on bag and one personal item. The carry-on
bag must not exceed 7 kg in Economy and Premium Economy, and 10 kg in Business
and First Class.
Marco Polo Club and Oneworld elite members may be entitled to additional baggage
benefits. Excess baggage fees apply if limits are exceeded, and sporting
equipment may be subject to special handling.
