Baggage Information for Passengers Traveling with Japan Airlines:
Carry-on Baggage
Each passenger may bring onboard:
• One personal item (e.g., handbag or shopping bag)
• One additional carry-on bag, provided the combined weight of both does not
exceed 10 kg (22 lbs)
The maximum dimensions for the carry-on bag are:
• Width: 55 cm (22 in)
• Height: 40 cm (16 in)
• Depth: 25 cm (10 in)
If your carry-on exceeds size or weight limits or cannot be properly stowed due
to cabin space limitations, it may need to be checked at the gate. Ensure all
electronic devices are turned off in checked baggage, and do not include
valuables.
Checked Baggage Allowance
International Flights:
• Economy and Premium Economy: 2 bags up to 23 kg (50 lbs) each
• Business and First Class: 3 bags up to 32 kg (70 lbs) each
• Maximum linear dimensions per bag: 203 cm (79.9 in)
Domestic Flights:
• Standard allowance: 20 kg, or 45 kg in First Class (total across multiple
bags)
• Maximum dimensions per item: 50 × 60 × 120 cm
Infants (on adult’s lap):
• 1 checked bag with the same weight and size limits as the accompanying adult
Excess Baggage Fees (Selected Routes)
For flights between Japan/Asia/India and Hawaii/North/Central/South
America/Europe/Middle East/Africa:
• Extra piece: ¥20,000 (approx. $200 USD)
• Overweight (23–32 kg): ¥10,000 (approx. $100 USD)
• Overweight (32–45 kg): ¥60,000 (approx. $600 USD)
• Oversized item: ¥20,000 (approx. $200 USD)
